Peptidci

Peptitler (Grekçe: πεπτίδια; “bayağı sindirilebilirler”) tanımlanmış bir düzende, α-amino asitlerin birbirine bağlamlanmasıyla oluşan kısaltarak polimerlerdir.[1] Bir amino asit lakırtııntısı ile ötekisi arasındaki bağ bir “amit bağ” veya peptit bağı olarak bilinir.[1]

Tetrapeptit (Oligopeptit)
Proteinler polipeptit molekülleridir (veya çok sayıda polipeptit alt birimi çitndırır). Baş ayırt peptitlerin kısaltarak, polipeptitlerin/proteinlerin ise uzun olmasıdır.[1]

Protein sentezi sırasında her amino asit, vesair amino asite durmadan, kırılmayan bir polimer olan polipeptid zincirleriyle bağlamlanır. Polipeptid strüktürsına tıkızlan amino asitlerin her biri strüktürya peptid bağlamlarıyla bağlamlanır. Peptid bağının oluşumu sırasında amino asitlerden birinin amino grubu ile diğerinin karboksil grubu, aradan bir sutaş çıkması sonucu birleşirler.[1]

Vasati bir polipeptit zinciri 450 amino asitten oluşur.[1] Bilinen en uzun polipeptit, takribî 27,000 amino asitten oluşan, kas dokusunda bulunan “titin”dir. Polipeptid zincirine tıkızlan amino asitlere lakırtııntı (residue) adı verilir.[1] Zincirin bir ucundaki lakırtııntı, bağ yapmamış, hür amino grubu çitndırır ve N ucu olarak adlandırılır. Aynı şekilde zincirin vesair ucundaki hür α-karboksil grubu olan lakırtııntıya C ucu adı verilir.
